Mazatlan Wedding | Araceli and Hector

Once again I get to boast about my “job.” Any wedding photographer has to love photographing weddings outside the normal travel radius – it presents challenge, experience and fun all rolled up into work. So I have photographed many, many weddings in Mexico over the past years, but this was my first experience in beautiful Mazatlan.

Mazatlan is wonderful mix of old Mexico and new Mexico. The city was established in 1531 so there are lots of old churches, stoney walkways, etc. But the current population of half a million people has devleoped Mazatlan into a thriving seaport and resort city. There is even an ‘old resort’ area and a ‘new resort’ area depending on what you feel like.

I had really been looking forward to Araceli and Hector’s wedding for several reasons. They booked me over the phone after reviewing my extensive Mexico portfolio and they went ahead and paid the expense of a 2nd photographer of my choosing. I was able to spend the week with one of my good photog friends, Brian Jost. We arrived on Thursday night and this 1st picture is one the views from our balcony at the Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan where we stayed. . .
