One of the first resorts in Cabo San Lucas was the Hacienda Beach Hotel in downtown at the Marina. Since 1963 it has seen its share of movie stars and makeovers, and with its latest remodel is now called the Hacienda Beach Club & Residences. Check out their site for pricing on owning anything from a one bedroom to a beach-front villa. Besides fulfilling the definition of the word ‘luxury,’ the Hacienda Beach Club has one of the widest and whitest beaches in Cabo along with all the yummy usuals – spa, access to golf, pools and margaritas. From their site, “The exciting nightlife and shopping of downtown Cabo San Lucas is literally steps away. The Marina – your embarking point for fishing, sailing, diving and whale watching – is right next door.”

I was fortunate enough to stay next door at the Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa, check out the view from my room . . . holla . . .

Mark and Jennifer hail from fantastic Los Angeles, CA and actually found me through previous clients who got married in Mexico. They were kind enough to invite me for the entire weekend which included a condo in neighboring San Jose, rehearsal dinner at the Baja Cantina, a day at the Sheraton Hacienda, and an incredible reception party at Pancho’s Restaurant and Tequila Bar in downtown Cabo (emphasis on the ‘Tequila Bar’).

As always, in Mexico there is never a shortage of unique details to photograph and the warm light and textures add alot of richness. . .

For weddings at the Sheraton Hacienda there are two choices – beach or chapel . Mark and Jennifer chose the beautiful on-site Mexican chapel for their ceremony and it helped make their destination wedding in Cabo feel more “Cabo-liscious.”







AAAHHHH!! Pancho’s!! Lobster and tequila! What more can I say?!?!?

This is what you get when you ask for the ‘dirtiest’ tequila in the house!! What?!?! Rattlesnakes in a 5 gallon jug, tequila served with a ladle! Warning: there are side effects. . .

In a world of ever-changing marketing, Nancy found my services through Facebook! I had recently photographed another Pelican Hill wedding and posted the link on my Hoffmann FB fanpge. Nancy came over to my studio with her daughters, Somer and Lala, for a consultation. They are all three very fun-loving with tons of smiles and laughter. The pictures were very important to these ladies and they were excited. After a tough interview Somer and Lala gave me the thumbs up and we were booked. Thanks girls!

It is a divine story how Nancy met her fiance, Mr. James Lee. They have both been involved in charities that provide assistance for villages in Cambodia. James was building schools and Nancy was feeding villages. Two generous hearts gravitated towards each other, and now are becoming one.

This was my first time working with coordinator Laurie Davies from Five Star Weddings and Events. The day went incredibly smooth, was very well organized and really enjoyable. Laurie is extremely professional and has a great reputation for working high-end weddings and events in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Nancy had this dream of being like a Greek goddess on her wedding day. So great. You can see from the following pictures that she accomplished her dream. . .






Our groom is a very quiet and respectful man. He was not as excited about ‘photo time’ as Nancy, but Mr. Lee was captured perfectly in this image . . .

All the romantics will enjoy the love story of Stefanie and Thomas. I mean, this has the makings of a movie. If you can believe this Stefanie and Thomas met over MySpace. There was just one small obstacle in the way of their relationship – Thomas lives in Los Angeles and Stefanie lives in Germany! Whaa?! Small obstacle for small minds, but for a guy like Thomas it became an opportunity to visit Germany on a regular basis. Guys like Thomas inspire romance in the world. Way to go Thomas, you set the bar high.

Jeanie and Andrew met the old fashioned way – at a BAR! Way to go you guys, keeping it real. Actually, Jeanie was working there and Andrew was a regular. A good beginning to a great love story. This happened in Arizona, btw. Fast forward a couple years and we are having a destination wedding in beautiful Laguna Beach . . .

If you’ve never stayed at the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, DO IT!! AH, what a nice place. Every single room has a balcony overlooking the ocean. You won’t regret it. AND if you can get ready for your wedding there, invite me!!

Best getaway to date . . . Jeanie rented a Harley Davidson as a surprise! What a great idea. Andrew was so excited when he came out and saw it . . . off they GO!!!

Summer has been so elusive this year, hasn’t it? In the middle of August the sun is hiding and then peaks out only for a few hours. Orange County still rocks the best year-round weather in the US, but we’ve definitely had cooler days this summer.

The wedding of Alyssa and Todd was a beautiful day – Dana Point, St. Regis, white roses, designer dresses, live music, cigars, and Mr. Sunshine peeking out at all the perfect times. The event was coordinated by Sharon Gall at Once Upon A Time Weddings and went off without a hitch . . .
